One Nation Senator Pauline Hanson is campaigning against Queensland’s bid for the 2032 Olympics, claiming regional communities don’t want it.
From mid-January, One Nation will unveil more than 50 billboards across the state showing an image of Senator Hanson alongside the message; ‘2032 Brisbane Olympics, regional Qld says no’. Senator Hanson told Sky News on Friday regional Queenslanders “don’t need it and [the state] can’t afford it”.
“Having travelled around Queensland quite extensively, and speaking to different people, they don’t want it,” she said. “They are wanting water infrastructure before the Olympics. “Queensland is in debt to the tune of $90 billion and it’s getting worse with every budget that we see. “We are talking about 12 years down the track, and I don’t think we can afford it.” Image: News Corp Australia
