Deputy Premier Steven Miles announced one new locally acquired case who has been linked to the Indooroopilly cluster and was in home quarantine while infectious.
Mr Miles flagged a further easing of restrictions in south-east Queensland from 4pm on Friday as state authorities prepare to implement tough border restrictions. He announced $1 million had been allocated to western councils to assist them with border closure costs along with further ADF troops to assist police at border checkpoints.
No COVID patients are in intensive care and the vaccination rate in Queensland continues to rise with 44 per cent of eligible residents having received their first jab and 22 per cent fully vaccinated.
