A Queensland father has bravely recalled the terrifying moment he was stabbed by a teenager outside his own home on Christmas Day in the wake of the state's deepening youth crime crisis.
Speaking to Today show hosts Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo on Tuesday morning, Ben Clarke bravely recounted the night he was allegedly attacked on his own driveway while taking out the garbage.
"Cars pulled up and this young fella had concealed a knife in a family member's car, we didn't know," Mr Clarke said. Mr Clarke said he was concerned for the teenager's welfare because he was"extremely heightened" and"out of control". Moments later, Mr Clarke can be heard saying,"Did you just stab me?" before stumbling to the ground. The Queensland father was stabbed in the stomach and chest area, suffering a horrific wound which extended from just above his abdomen to underneath his left breastplate. "It's something that you wouldn't expect in our little town cause we love our town," Mr Clarke told Today.
