Unvaccinated MPs on parliamentary business will be granted access to the Parliamentary Precinct but will be barred from eating areas.People entering Parliament’s grounds must now show proof of their vaccination status to staff, either electronically or via a hard copy. Those who are exempt from obtaining a vaccination will also be barred from any eating areas and must wear a mask.Parliamentary officers and staff must have their first dose of a vaccine by December 17 and their second by January 21. Failing to comply could result in termination.“In short, the Speaker and Clerk have a duty of care to members, staff and the public to minimise their risk of catching COVID-19 in their interactions with service staff,” the staff directive reads.
