An emergency alert is out for the Gympie region after heavy rain was causing havoc.
An emergency alert has been issued to the Gympie region over possible major flooding, with some catchments seeing more than 300 millimetres fall on Saturday morning.Queensland Fire and Emergency Services put out an alert warning for residents in Tiaro and Miva on the Fraser Coast about 11pm on Friday before Gympie became a concern at 7.30am on Saturday.The Bureau of Meteorology warned further heavy rainfall was forecast throughout the morning in parts of the Mary River catchment.
“This is in addition to heavy rainfall that was observed in the catchment area on Thursday evening and overnight.
