BREAKING: Queensland has recorded 18,000 new cases of Covid-19 as the state started taking into account positive self-reported rapid antigen test results.

On Sunday, 402 people were in hospital with 22 in intensive care. Five people are currently requiring ventilation.

It comes after the state recorded 11,174 new cases on Saturday, the third consecutive day that infections have topped 10,000.In order to more accurately reflect case numbers, Queensland Health Minister Yvette D’Ath on Friday said an online self-reporting system had gonePeople who test positive via a RAT are being told to immediately isolate for seven days.

“Queensland Health will use your information for outbreak control and contact tracing use,” it says on its website. Qld recorded its third consecutive day above 10,000 cases on Saturday but only including PCR results.
