The NSW government is exploring whether QR check-in codes could be used in taxis as health experts work to track down all the passengers of a cab driver who tested positive on the weekend | rachelclun

Testing numbers in NSW dropped on Sunday, with 7765 tests reported to 8pm on Sunday compared with 13,635 the day before.

"By the weekend, subject to one final check on Wednesday ... mums and dads could look forward to this weekend being able to get out and see the youngsters ... playing in their finals and grand finals," Mr Hazzard said on Monday evening. "Anyone who attended the club at this time should monitor for symptoms, and if they appear, get tested and isolate until they receive a negative result," a statement from NSW Health read."NSW Health is working with the venue to identify people who attended the club at this time, and will contact patrons to identify close contacts."

NSW Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant said they have used the driver's trip details and booking systems to help find some of his passengers. “If we can work with the taxi council so that they can download this app and make it available for their customers, then it would be easier for Health to identify those that need to be notified in relation to the current circumstances,” he said.
