Quade Cooper set to miss second Test, doubtful for rest of England series | phillutton78 tomdecent
Quade Cooper will miss Australia’s second Test against England in Brisbane and is highly unlikely to take part in the remainder of the England series due to the calf injury that ruled him out of the Wallabies’ first clash of the year on Saturday.
The Wallabies will do everything they can in the next 12 days to try and get Cooper’s calf right for the third Test on July 16, but his involvement in the match remains ‘unlikely’.“Not being able to take the field last night after a small injury in the final moments of the warm-up was a tough moment I won’t lie,” Cooper wrote. “But watching our group overcome every challenge thrown at us last night was the growth we have been working towards as a team.Quade Cooper before the England series.
Banks broke his arm in the first half of Australia’s victory and will be out of action for four months.Wallabies prop Allan Alaalatoa is expected to miss the second Test due to concussion protocols, while Darcy Swain is set to face his disciplinary hearing on Tuesday evening for a headbutt. The Australians have won 10-straight against all opposition in Brisbane and haven’t ended up on the wrong side of the scoreboard since 2016. It’s a formidable record but the hosts can expect England to lift their game significantly at a venue all too familiar to their Australian coach Eddie Jones. That might mean a more aggressive and physical approach to try and avert the Wallaby gaze from the bigger prize.
