"I know a lot of people have sons and daughters overseas or parents or brothers and sisters overseas," she said."You can come into Queensland and you will no longer have to do, if you are vaccinated, quarantine."Ms Palaszczuk said vaccinated international travellers will just need to do a rapid antigen test within 24 hours of their arrival.
The premier noted she was not concerned the change would boost COVID-19 numbers too significantly and that travellers were more likely to catch the virus in Australia. She also said the change in rules comes as Queensland's vaccination rates lift to 91.5 per cent first dose and 88.82 per cent second dose.Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said its due to a rise in the vaccination rates.
