The Dalai Lama, Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, Joe Biden, Emmanuel Marcon and Anthony have paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth who lived a 'meaningful life,' was an 'extraordinary public figure' and who 'defined an era.'
“Over the course of a remarkable seven decades, Her Majesty was a rare and reassuring constant amidst rapid change.
“Through the noise and turbulence of the years, she embodied and exhibited a timeless decency and an enduring calm.” Chinese President Xi Jinping said the death of the Queen - who was the first British monarch to visit his country - is a great loss to the British people. "I attach great importance to the development of Sino-British relations and am ready to work with King Charles III to take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations at ambassadorial level as an opportunity to promote the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations."
I met Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at the last Commonwealth meeting which was held in London in 2018 where we spent some time looking at letters that former President Nelson Mandela sent to the Queen, and we reminisced about the great stateman that Her Majesty so respected.
