The symbolic meaning why the royal ladies wore green to Prince Philip's memorial

Members of the Royal Family joined together for a special Thanksgiving service to remember the Queen's husband, Prince Philip, who passed away on 9 April 2021.

The chosen colour honours the Duke's livery colour which was Edinburgh Green and also celebrates his environmental work. Other royals followed suit and put on a united front as Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and her daughter Princess Anne also sported the same colour in their outfits. The outfit was then finished off with the Bugle Horn silver brooch which Camilla previously wore to Prince Philip's funeral in April last year.

The Queen previously said how 'the impact of the environment on human progress was a cause close to the heart of my dear late husband' during a video at the COP26 summit in 2021.
