The planned lifting of south-east Queensland's lockdown this weekend rests on today's COVID-19 case numbers and testing levels across the state.
Mr Miles said the lockdown "appeared to be working" but it was still too soon to make a final decision. A key factor in ensuring the best chance of the lockdown lifting is keeping test rates at their current record levels of more than 50,000 a day. Queensland will tighten its border restrictions with Victoria in response to the state's snap lockdown as the state tries to keep the Delta variant at bay.
