Jarrod Bleijie says he's seen a 'newly revised' Infrastructure Priority List which shows the number of Queensland projects has been reduced from 29 to seven.
Jarrod Bleijie says the yet-to-be-released Infrastructure Priority List is a "kick in the guts". Jarrod Bleijie says the federal funding of several Queensland infrastructure projects is at risk, after they were left off a priority list.
A stoush has broken out between the Queensland LNP government and the Commonwealth over federal funding for major infrastructure projects, including the long-awaited, multi-billion-dollar direct Sunshine Coast rail line. Mr Bleijie has written to Federal Infrastructure Minister Catherine King requesting her "urgent intervention" to reinstate the projects.
Infrastructure Australia said it is "currently consulting on its Infrastructure Priority List and has worked closely with states and territories throughout this process".Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers said Mr Bleijie's comments were "ridiculous and laughable".He said the commonwealth will "continue to work with the state government".
