A retired father from Bribie Island, Queensland, won $60 million in Thursday night's Powerball draw. He had only entered the draw that morning and almost missed out on buying a ticket. The man plans to help his family and friends with the winnings and buy his mother's favorite vintage car.
A retired father from Queensland’s Bribie Island was drifting off to sleep, dreaming up hypothetical ways he might spend a $60 million Powerball prize, when he received news of the real-life lottery win on Thursday night. He had only entered draw 1499 that morning while “watching the birds and enjoying a cuppa out on the deck”. Now he has revealed his exciting and generous plans for the prize money.
” Another potential obstacle to the win was his choice of numbers — 20, 23, 34, 19, 24, 31, 10 and Powerball number 14. “I’ve been playing these numbers for 10 or 15 years. Funnily enough, I don’t always play them, sometimes I switch it up, but luckily I used them tonight,” he said. He had purchased the three-game PowerHit entry on The Lott app.
