Queensland MP Brittany Lauga has reported to police she was allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted.
The 37-year-old assistant minister for health in Queensland, attended Yeppoon Police Station in the early hours of Sunday morning after a night out on Saturday.
Testing conducted at Yeppoon Hospital confirmed the presence of drugs in her system which she denies taking voluntarily, revealing that the substance “impacted significantly.”Queensland MP Brittany Lauga has reported to police she was drugged and sexually assaulted. Picture: QLD LaborMs Lauga has since been contacted by women in the Yeppoon area who may have also been drugged against their will that same Saturday night.
“This could have happened to anyone and tragically, it does happen to many of us,” Ms Lauga said in statement.“It’s not ok. We should be able to enjoy socialising in our town without the risk of being drugged or assaulted.”“I need time to physically and emotionally heal after what has happened so I ask you respect my privacy as I get the support I need“Thank you to everyone who has reached out to me in support.
