A mystery COVID-19 case has been detected in Brisbane, with a school being shut down as a precaution after a 13-year-old student tested positive. 9News

The border bubble between Queensland and New South Wales is being reinstated to allow students and essential workers to cross between the states.in a school student which is under investigation.LIVE UPDATES:The school has been instructed to send students home as a precaution until more information becomes available.

Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young said she had only just received the information and it was very early in the investigation.The state has also recorded one new case in an overseas traveller who is on a ship.From 1am Monday, students and essential workers will now be able to travel into Queensland from the 12 NSW LGAs where restrictions will ease on Saturday, including Tweed.

More details are expected to be released today about the permitted reasons for crossing the Queensland-NSW border but they are expected to be similar to arrangements prior to the hard border being put in place. Anyone crossing the border must not have visited a COVID-19 hotspot or had anyone in their home from a COVID-19 hotspot in the past 14 days, she said.
