Police say investigations are continuing into a two-vehicle crash that involved a stolen car early Monday morning, with a search involving a helicopter failing to find a pair of teenagers who fled the scene.
The Queensland Police Service is searching for two teenagers involved in a crash with a stolen vehicle south of Maryborough, three hours north of Brisbane.
Police said the vehicle was stolen from an address in Maryborough just after 5am on Monday before being driven to Boonooroo Plains where it was involved in a two-vehicle incident at about 6am.Police began a multi-agency search and rescue operation after two people fled the scene into nearby bushland, but were unable to locate the pair.
Lifelight said the Sunshine Coast search and rescue helicopter searched thick state forest for three hours before the search ended this afternoon.The incident is unrelated to another crash at about 11am near Tuan Forest south of Maryborough on Monday, which left a 20-year-old woman in a serious condition and a man with back pain.
