A senior constable opened fire on an armed man while responding to an alleged domestic violence incident in Brisbane's south, police said.
The man is alleged to have charged at officers with a large metal sharpening file yesterday while police were responding to a call in Stretton. "They saw him armed and approaching very rapidly down a hilly driveway , that was their thought process last night."Massingham said the man then threw the knife at police."We are so fortunate we did not have police murdered here in Stretton last night," he said. A man has been shot by police after allegedly confronting officers with a knife in Brisbane.Officers were called to reports of an armed person at an address in Liquidambar Place in Stretton in the city's south around 7pm.
