Queensland Chief Health Officer Dr John Gerrard said move would essentially rely on an "honesty system".
Dr Gerrard said he would refer the specifics to the Queensland Police Commissioner, but making a false declaration is a crime. Queensland Health Minister Yvette D'Ath said that data suggested just six per cent of new positive cases were detected via the test, making them "no longer necessary".
