Queensland has recorded no new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 with 8679 people in quarantine.

Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young said 8679 people were in home or hotel quarantine across the state.

She said people should continue to abide by social distancing and mask-wearing rules until they're officially eased next week. "We're not totally out of it yet, we must keep up our quarantine and testing. Health Minister Yvette D'Ath reminded businesses that the state government's check-in app became mandatory at 1am on Friday. Deputy Police Commissioner Steve Gollschewski said police had handed out 111 face masks on Thursday and issued three fines to people refusing to wear them."They'll give you the mask so you can put it on," Mr Gollschewski said.
