Queensland health authorities have ruled out a return to compulsory masks, as the state heads towards a COVID-19 peak as bad as the wave in January.
Rising cases were putting extra pressure on the health system, with more than 2000 Queensland Health staff out of action after contracting COVID-19 and others out with flu.
“Either you or someone you know will be affected with this sub-variant in coming weeks,” he said. “It’s important for you to prepare now.” “It’s about personal responsibility – the future is not about public health measures and public health mandates,” he said.
