Queensland has reported 17,445 new cases, 670 hospitalisations and 49 in ICU as the state continues to grapple with the Omicron outbreak.

Of the new cases, 12,830 were reported via PCR tests, while RATs accounted for just 4615 positive cases.The state, which reopened its border to NSW on Friday, has a double vaccination rate of 88.65 per cent for eligible persons aged 16 and above, and 91.55 per cent single dose rate for the same demographic.

The state is now managing 203,657 active cases of COVID-19, just days after the Queensland border re-opened on Friday.
