A critically endangered gastropod has caused two Queensland government projects, including the Nathan Dam development first proposed in the 1920s, to move at a snail's pace.
A critically endangered species no bigger than a 50-cent coin is causing another infrastructure project in a small rural Queensland town to move at a snail's pace.
Member of the local chamber of commerce Anne Chater said the same species was now causing more headaches for a new project in town."They became aware of the fact that there were boggomoss snails living in part of the scrub." "You just move it out of the actual development area and move it to one side then there shouldn't be a problem."
"The irrigation developments that were built at Theodore were built in the mid-1920s on the strength that the Nathan Gorge Dam would be built," he said.it was proposed that the colony be moved for the billion-dollar project."No concrete proposals have been put down that I'm aware of.
