New close contact rules
As of Friday, NSW, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and the ACT have adopted a new definition of a close contact agreed to at Thursday’s national cabinet meeting.AAPIMAGE They will only need a rapid antigen test and will be able to leave isolation after seven days if they return a negative RAT on day six.
Tasmania will join the new arrangements from January 1, with the Northern Territory and Western Australia to make announcements in the coming days.
