Private parking operators in Queensland will be temporarily stripped of the ability to access government-held details used to demand payment from motorists accused of overstaying time limits.
The peak national body for the private parking operators had unsuccessfully sought a meeting with Transport Minister Mark Bailey after the issues arose.
Chief executive Stuart Norman, who has unsuccessfully sought a meeting with Bailey since the issue arose, toldWhile Bailey has categorised the practice as a loophole closed in other states, Norman has praised Queensland’s laws for allowing operators to use camera technology rather than boom gates in line with global trends.Loading
