What a hero 🤩
Minutes after a Royal visit on Wednesday , the quick-thinking actions of a local hero saved the live of a floundering dog in Avenham Park
The Park Ranger, who has worked at Avenham and Miller park for eight years, says its part of 'park life' but since the rescue mission was shared online, he's been branded a 'hero' by hundreds of people - especially pup owner, Gloria.Michael told LancsLive: "We were coming back in for a debrief and coming along I noticed there was a bit of commotion by the river. Gloria was there, she saw me and I saw her.
"I had to count the trees," he said, "it was the only way to judge how many meters away from the bridge she was." Despite Michael rescuing Faye, the rescue mission wasn't over yet as the brick bank wall was over 6ft. "I decided then to scramble along the edge back to the East Lancs Bridge. I met my colleagues there, keeping it safe and close to the edge."
Michael thanks those that helped him help Gloria and Faye for the team effort. Now Faye is bathed and safe, he's caught up with Gloria over a cup of tea.
