Grade-two-listed property for sale a has toilet seat within a grand ornate throne fit for royalty

The buyer of this quirky stately home will do their business literally sitting on a throne - as the toilet seat is built within a grand ornate chair fit for a king or queen. The grade-two-listed property in Appleby-in-Westmorland, Cumbria, has earned attention online with its unusual bathroom decorations.

For £725,000 the buyer will own a five-bed 17th Century stately home along with a two-bed apartment. The toilet is in the bathroom on the main home's first floor, but next to stairs that appear to take you through to a mezzanine fitted with shower, jacuzzi and a sauna. They said the team 'saw the funny side' and 'it's certainly an interesting property'. The property also has the owner's family crest printed on glass throughout.

"That eccentricity comes through well with that toilet. It's very tongue-in-cheek and he's done a lot to property to suit him. I don't think there's going to be a rush of people for but it's going to be a particular type of person who buys it.
