“They were making racist remarks at the basketball game towards me and my other teammates who are of color. It kind of frustrates me that like anyone has to go through that.”
“We're about to kick it, but then our goalie started screaming, 'They're yelling racist comments, they’re yelling racist comments,'" she said.
Last Thursday's game wasn't the first time Salem Hills fans have been racist towards Provo athletes. Just last February, fans were recorded on video making racist taunts during a girls basketball game. While they did not want to reveal their identities, out of concern for being targeted, one family spoke with FOX 13 News reporter Jenna Bree about what happened that night on the field.
