Melbourne radio host Tom Elliott has backed ex-NSW premier Dominic Perrottet’s claim vaccine mandates were “wrong”.
Melbourne radio host Tom Elliott has backed ex- NSW premier Dominic Perrottet 's"extraordinary" comments about the vaccine mandates , describing the Covid-19 pandemic as"two years of mass delusion".
“This is an amazing thing for a political leader to say,” the 3AW host said, reminding listeners that there had been a “huge debate” back in 2021 about whether the Covid vaccines “should be compulsory”. “You might remember footballer Liam Jones, playing for Carlton at the time, he had to be dropped from Carlton's list because he refused to get vaccinated,” Elliot said.
“It was madness and Dominic Perrottet, and I admire him for this, has come… and said all of that was a mistake.” He said NSW had managed to “address the health needs of our people while remaining more open and more free than other states”. However the former Liberal leader went out of his way to criticise vaccine mandates.
