The Ibrox CEO quit his role after 13 months to make a move to the Saudi Pro League.

Rangers are reportedly demanding a compensation package for allowing James Bisgrove to make the move to Saudi.

The Rangers CEO quit his role after 13 months at Ibrox and a move to newly-promoted Al Qadsiah – who are owned by Saudi oil giants Aramco – is now on. The Glasgow giants’ board confirmed the departure of Bisgrove in a statement on Thursday as John Bennett stepped into the role of executive chairman to oversee the transfer window and the transition into another new era for the Scottish Premiership giants.

After Bisgrove informed the hierarchy of his decision to head for the Saudi Pro League, the Rangers Review claim that "discussions over a financial deal are ongoing" – with Rangers looking to recoup a six-figure sum. The would allow Bisgrove to make the move to the Middle East "as soon as possible" and bring the curtain down on five years with the Light Blues.

As it stands, Bennett will act on his new role on an interim basis to ensure continuity – with Bisgrove staying for the next few weeks to ease the transition – as they focus on executing plans for the summer, on and off the pitch. Philippe Clement is in the midst of a rebuild in the transfer window having already added Jefte.
