Rangers are keen to sign Fabio Silva on a permanent basis in the summer window and will make contact soon with Wolves over a potential deal, that the Gers will not be able to sanction a mega-money move for the 21-year-old – even if they qualify directly to the Champions League league phase.
They will instead enquire about a possible cut-price move for Silva with Wolves still needing to balance the books for Financial Fair Play reasons. The Portugal Under-21 international joined Rangers on loan in January but the two clubs did not agree on an option-to-buy clause for a set fee. Silva has made seven starts in 15 total appearances for Philippe Clement’s side as they take on Celtic in the Scottish Premiership title race.he wanted to bring Silva to the club permanently in January but admitted he was “too expensive” for the Glasgow giants.
It is believed Rangers will now count on Wolves reducing their asking price in the summer window as their financial situation continues to hamper Gary O’Neil.
