An investigation has been launched
Police were called in the early hours of this morning after receiving reports a woman, in her 20s, had been raped in Tithebarn Street.
The call came in at about 12.50am. Since then no arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing into the incident.The woman is being supported by specially trained officer, Lancashire Constabulary confirmed. A police presence can still be seen in the area of Preston Bus Station as they conduct their investigation.
A spokesperson for the force said: "She is currently being supported by specially trained officers. Reassurance patrols have been increased as a precaution but this is being treated as an isolated incident.”
