A family who lost their home in a blaze started by a lithium battery are hoping for a ‘Christmas miracle’. The young family of five lost everything including their house, car, and all of their belongings in a fire in Ravenswood on Sunday night. Emergency services were called to the blaze on Moondyne Road about 10am. It left Hayley and Lee, and their children Cash, 9, Carter, 7, and Nate, 2, homeless with just the clothes on their back. Lee also suffered burns and smoke inhalation in the fire.
“Leaving my sister, her partner and their three young children homeless just before Christmas. Lee suffered burns and smoke inhalation from the fire. “Unfortunately the entire house, all their belongings and their cars are completely gone. They currently only have the clothes they escaped in.” Mr Weston wrote that he was hoping Aussies could deliver the family a ‘Christmas miracle’ by donating.
