Australian breakdancer Rachael 'Raygun' Gunn's legal team is seeking $10,000 in legal fees from the owner of a Sydney comedy club after the cancellation of a musical based on her life.

Raygun 's lawyers are demanding $10,000 in legal fees from the owner of a Sydney comedy club who promoted a musical about the breakdancer. The show, called ' Raygun the Musical', was cancelled just hours before it was due to begin after Gunn's lawyers contacted the venue to threaten legal action. They claimed the show, written by comedian Stephanie Broadbridge, was using the 37-year-old’s name and famous kangaroo pose silhouette without permission.

Mr Skinner, who was planning to send the proceeds from the show to a women's shelter, offered $500 but this was “completely rejected” by the firm. The letter from 17 Degrees lawyer Samantha Ludemann stated as an “absolute undertaking” Mr Skinner was required to agree to reimburse Gunn with legal costs to date which they estimate to be $10,000. The other conditions included cancelling the proposed show, removing all references to Gunn and her likeness from promotions and advertising, and providing evidence of the cancellation of the show. He was also ordered to agree not to use Gunn’s “intellectual property” including the name Raygun, her kangaroo pose, images of her, and her story or history
