When Kristina and hundreds of other displaced people at the shelter were asked by HIA volunteers what kind of support they needed beyond food and hygiene products, many of them said they needed activities to keep them healthy and to take their minds off of their terrible situation.
“The bombing and missile strikes grew stronger each day, and we could no longer sit there and wait for a bomb to hit our house,” Kristina said.“Before the conflict, my husband was always into boxing and judo, but here, without a job and a home, he is depressed and finds it difficult to stay motivated,” she said.
