Ohio State looks like the best team in college football through six weeks. We discuss what’s been most impressive so far and the Buckeyes’ chances of winning a national title.
Ohio State looked like a national championship-caliber team during the first half of the regular season.
The Buckeyes have been the most dominant team in college football so far this year, winning all six games before their bye week by an average of 33.2 points, the highest in the country. Ohio State currently ranks in the top 15 nationally in scoring offense , total offense , passing offense , rushing offense , total defense , scoring defense , passing defense and rushing defense .
As a result, Ohio State has emerged as the betting favorite to win this year’s national championship, and based on what we’ve seen so far this season, we believe there’s a great chance the Buckeyes will be hoisting the national championship trophy at the end of the year. Only one of us went as far as to predict the Buckeyes will actually win it all, and our one reservation about Ohio State’s early success is the Buckeyes haven’t played anyone that’s currently a top-25 team. But we both agree that Ohio State should be the No. 1-ranked team in the country right now and that the Buckeyes appear capable of beating anyone they play in 2022.
