In an era where reality TV rarely offers much in the way of reality, Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show finds the star comedian using TV cameras as a weapon.
Over 30 years into reality television’s existence, it’s rare that the form offers much in the way of innovation. The documentaries saw Carmichael returning home to confront his father over his infidelities and also to explore how his mother’s faith persuaded her to forgive his transgressions.that always felt revealing. While reconnecting with his brother and friends outside his childhood home, Carmichael recalls his fear of a rough neighbourhood street notorious for drive-by shootings.
