Manchester City have confirmed their squad for the Premier League campaign but there are a few notable absentees

Now the summer transfer window is done, clubs in the top flight were required to confirm their full squad lists up to January when the market reopens again. For the most part, there are no surprises.

New signings Josko Gvardiol and Jeremy Doku are both absent from the squad list as is last season's breakout star Rico Lewis. However, there is no reason to be alarmed. As well as being able to pick a maximum of 25 players for the squad, the Premier League also allows clubs to pick players under the age of 21 without the need to register them in their squad list. This means the City trio will be eligible to play in the top flight this season despite being left off the list.

City's Premier League campaign will resume on Saturday when they travel to West Ham United. The Blues will be buoyed by the return of manager Pep Guardiola to the touchline after he missed some games prior to the international break with a back problem.
