Traffic Watch NI said: "Belfast - the A55 Knock Road at Ascot Park - remains closed in both directions following an earlier road traffic collision. The closure points have been scaled back, the Castlereagh Road end has reopened and traffic can now approach from the Upper Newtownards Road to the Kings Road.Police have said that the Knock Road will remain closed for a number of hours following the collision.

A spokesperson said: "Motorists are advised that the Knock Road in east Belfast, between the junctions with Shandon Park and Knockmount Park, will remain closed for a number of hours following a serious road traffic collision."A NIAS spokesperson said: "The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 14:23 on Wednesday 10 May following reports of a RTC involving a vehicle and pedestrian in the Ascot Park area of Belfast.

"NIAS despatched a Rapid Response Paramedic and an Emergency Crew to the incident and also tasked the Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS crew on board to attend. "Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken by ambulance to Royal Victoria Hospital."
