A 12-year-old boy suffered two broken legs and a dog was killed Monday night in a crash in Putnam County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
According to troopers, a 23-year-old driver, whose name was not released, was driving recklessly east on Tinsley Road at about 7:30 p.m. Monday when he sideswiped a pickup truck with his car.
The report said the driver kept going and hit a dog, killing it, and then hit a 12-year-old boy, breaking both his legs. The boy was taken to UF Shands Gainesville for treatment. The driver and the driver of the pick-up truck were not injured. Both were wearing seat belts, troopers said.Copyright 2022 by WJXT News4Jax - All rights reserved.
