Reginald Mullaly was living under a Bathurst bridge when he was stabbed to death almost a decade ago.
The 68-year-old had been living under the Denison Bridge in Bathurst in the New South Wales Central West when"It was the worst thing that could happen to anyone … no-one there to support or help him, the way he was attacked," Ms Hotham said.In May, the NSW Supreme Court found Stephen Shane Greenfield , 42, not guilty of Mr Mullaly's murder after a five-week trial.
Throughout the trial, witnesses from this group reiterated they "could not remember" details of what was said at the time of the investigation. "To take so long for it to go to trial, the people that were witnesses, how good a memory do they have? We all forget things and that's what worried me." "He was no worse and no better than the richest man in the world … He lived a life, he worked, he paid his taxes and he doesn't deserve what happened to him," she said.Pam Hotham has collected files on the murder of her brother.Ms Hotham said she feared she would never see justice for her brother.
