The Herald's View: The passing of Olivia Newton-John, Archie Roach and Judith Durham in recent weeks has given us time to reflect on their contribution to the notion of Australianness

For all of her fame though, what she became best known for was her approachable and good-natured persona. She wore her celebrity status lightly. She used her success to champion her chosen causes, including animal welfare, the environment and a more wholistic treatment of cancer.

They did it with much grace and poise. We thank them and remember them for the remarkable people they were.
