Melbourne Renegades rising star Millie Illingsworth has gone viral for a cheeky gesture during Thursday night’s WBBL clash against the Perth Scorchers. The hilarious incident unfolded with the Renegades struggling at 2-11 in response to the Scorchers’ meagre total of 108.
Illingsworth leaves teammates in stitches. Regular No.4 batter Emma De Broughe would normally have been at the crease, but she limped off with an ankle injury during the Scorchers’ innings. As commentators discussed whether she would be able to bat at all, the camera person zoomed in on two bare feet on the Renegades bench. With a left ankle heavily taped, it was thought that the feet belonged to De Broughe. “Triding to hide it,” Channel 7 commentator Alister Nicholson said.
