Ten acres will be handed over for a new school and artificial sports pitch for community use in a bid to solve lack of capacity issue.
A site has been secured to deliver a new primary school in Dargavel following an agreement in principle between Renfrewshire Council and landowner BAE Systems.
The proposed deal comes after Renfrewshire Council confirmed Dargavel Primary, which opened only 18 months ago, had space for just one third of the number of children who would eventually need a place. The dedicated team of experienced journalists, responsible for the publication of the award-winning Express, will focus on breaking news, day and night, across Renfrewshire’s towns and villages.
Renfrewshire Council leader Iain Nicolson said: “I believe the agreement being put forward for consideration is a positive outcome which will deliver the high-quality learning experience parents expect. Centrally located, the site is next to current and planned housing and will be accessible by people walking, wheeling, scootering and cycling.
