The Hoops star man is under contract until 2026 with the Scottish champions but Parkhead chiefs wants to tie down the midfielder alongside Liel Abada to fresh terms.
Barry Ferguson believes Celtic will SELL Reo Hatate if he doesn't sign a new deal as he made reference to their recent transfer 'policy'.
The likes of Tottenham and Brighton have been named as potential suitors south of the border and he has admitted previously that he holds aspirations of playing in one of the top five leagues in the future. Rangers hero Ferguson is a massive fan of Hatate who he bills as a 'quality operator' and has everything a modern day midfielder should have in his locker. But he believes he could be on the way out of Glasgow's east end.
"If they are not willing to commit they will look to bring in millions. They brought him in for £2 million and he has got three years left of a contract and for me he has got everything a modern day midfielder should have.Speaking back in June, Hatate told GOAL in Japan : "If there is a chance to step up, I would like to play in various leagues.
