"Declaring the office of Speaker of the House of Representatives to be vacant," Gaetz said on the House floor Monday night, announcing his resolution. "It is becoming increasingly clear who the speaker of the House already works for and it's not the Republican conference," Gaetz said, demanding answers from McCarthy.
