A repeat violent offender with 'one of the worst' records seen by a Supreme Court judge will be released from prison in two days; despite admitting he may not be able to comply with a supervision order.

A repeat violent offender set to be released from prison this week will be subject to an interim supervision order.

The South Australian Supreme Court heard Lambadgee was convicted of the manslaughter of his father in 2007.The court heard his most recent incarceration was the result of a conviction for aggravated recklessly causing harm in 2022 after an altercation with a store owner in which the man was seriously injured by a knife after Lambadgee stole alcohol from his shop.

"It would not be an exaggeration to say that Mr Lambadgee's criminal record is one of the worst I have seen for offences of violence," Justice McDonald said. "He says that he just wants to get out of prison and live his life free of any restraints," she said. The matter will return to court in April for a decision on whether Lambadgee will be subject to an extended supervision order. But she acknowledged that it would be "naive in the extreme" to release Lambadgee into the community with no supervision or supports in place.
