As concerns mount over safety in youth and high school football, people across the country are searching for potential solutions. Two ideas are being developed right here in the Tri-State Area. TimMcNicholas explains.
Now to the solutions that are changing the game when it comes to concussion protocol.
As Riverdale grappled with that same issue, it teamed with a nonprofit called the Concussion Legacy Foundation to brainstorm solutions. They settled on a league-wide no-kickoff rule, and a limit on live contact during regular season practice -- no more than 15 minutes per day. But it's tough to know the exact number, as some research shows about half of all concussions go unreported or undetected.
The researchers have formed a company called NoMo Diagnostics. They eventually hope to partner with helmet manufacturers.
