The plans include a new freestanding pergola with a retractable roof covering and glazed doors

A restaurant which was refused permission for a series of additions has made a fresh bid to the council. Permission was previously refused for a pergola at Browns on Park Row, Nottingham after the council concluded that it would be "detrimental to the special historic character" of the area on April 26.

The plans detail the erection of a freestanding pergola with a retractable roof covering and glazed doors. The restaurant was recently redecorated with a new interior which takes inspiration from the 1920s.The original pergola would have had a retractable roof covering with opening side panels and integral heating. Nottingham City Council found that the plan would "lead to the loss of an open area of the site, a last vestige of former garden to the original Victorian house".
