For 17 years Jianna Georgiou has been a professional dancer with leading Australian company Restless Dance Theatre, comprised of dancers with and without disabilities.
In Adelaide's Restless Dance Theatre studios, acclaimed dancer Jianna Georgiou stretches and laughs with her colleagues as they warm up during one of their regular training sessions.
"Yeah, we do lots of training, keep us more energetic, and not being lazy," Georgiou says with a laugh. "There's so many companies I want to be with, like Australian Dance Theatre, Shaun Parker Company… collaborating with them, but also creating, choreographing, a dance show.""My dream is to be a director doing dance pieces, but also being part of my other friends' companies as well," says Georgiou.
"We give the audience a gift. A gift of love — we give them part of their world, we give them light, and compassion. But they give us the same thing, love and compassion."
